ALEXANDER B. LILES, ESQ.
Alex, a seventh-generation Floridian, is a zealous, passionate, and relentless trial attorney who carries a proven track record of delivering highly favorable results for his clients. Aggressively advocating for small businesses and property owners against the billion-dollar insurance industry, Alex understands insurance inside-out. After graduating in the top of his class from law school, where he served as an Editor of the school’s preeminent Law Review while working as a lobbyist at a boutique Tallahassee law firm, Alex gained his initial litigation experience working at two large law firms representing insurance companies before he felt obligated to pursue his calling to represent the interests of his neighbors against these lawyered-up insurance companies. His initial experience representing insurance companies is invaluable to his current practice of representing small businesses, property owners, and his injured neighbors against massive corporations, which unfortunately focus solely on maximizing shareholder profit.
Alex excels in obtaining insurance coverage for denied and underpaid property, injury, and business insurance claims which should have been wholly paid in the first place. He values building and engaging with his network to foster cohesion in the industry so that Floridians may continue to stand firm and push back against the powerful insurance lobby. As for-profit entities, insurance companies have a direct incentive to deny or inadequately deny claims. Alex's focus is to defend the rights of his neighbors so that justice prevails.

Alex is married to his sweetheart Riley. He enjoys spending time with her outdoors, on the golf course, or at the gym. Some of Alex's passions include reading the Word of God, playing golf, and surfing.

ABOUT ALEX AND CORNERSTONE
Driven by his faith, Alex takes the calling to "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33) very seriously. This command was given by THE Cornerstone himself - Jesus Christ - while Jesus preached His famous "The Sermon on the Mount" in Israel in approximately 30 A.D. Before his crufixiation and later resurrection in 32 A.D., Jesus clarified that there exists only one way to seek and find the Kingdom of God - and that is through THE Cornerstone - Jesus Christ - "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life - No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6). So following Jesus is how Alex seeks the kingdom of God and His righteousness - by continuing to submit to Him and His way. Alex would be the first to testify that Jesus' way - THE Cornerstone's way - is far better and more fulfilling that what this world offers.

Approximately 1,000 years prior to the birth of Jesus, King David, king of the united kingdom of Judah and Isreal, wrote that "The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone." (Psalm 118:22). Approximately 200 years after King David wrote the foregoing prophecy, Isaiah wrote a similar prophecy during Israel's exile to the Assryian Empire, writing "Therefore, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: 'Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.'" (Isaiah 28:16).
Jesus is the fulfillment of David and Isaiah's prophecies -- He is THE Cornerstone (Matthew 21:42-44; Mark 12:10-11). We - all mankind - have rejected Jesus. But the Good News is that despite our rejection of THE Cornerstone, Jesus offers us forgiveness of our rejection and a new life through his death, on our behalf, and His resurrection. Indeed, Peter (who denied even knowing Jesus during Jesus' death and amazingly encountered Jesus in the Sea of Galilee after Jesus' death (John 21)) and Paul (who formerly terrorized the early church before encountering Jesus on his way to murder christians (Acts 9)), the leaders of the early church, identified Jesus as THE Cornerstone, writing "You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor" (1 Peter 2:4) and "Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit." (Ephesians 2:19-22).
Jesus is THE Cornerstone. And as THE Cornerstone, Jesus is our defense attorney against the accusations made against us by the enemy. Jesus intercedes and pleads our case before the Father - the Judge. And if we repent of our sins and trust in Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins, Jesus is faithful to plead our case and take our punishment from us. The Father would not be a just judge if He let sin go unchecked and unpunished. So thanks be to Jesus Christ for dying the death that we deserve and serving as our defense counsel. Jesus Christ is THE Cornerstone - He is the perfect advocate, and He is our model at Cornerstone.

"My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world." (1 John 2:1-2).

“Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” Isaiah 1:17 (NLT).
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.” Proverbs 31:8-9 (NLT).

Everyone who welcomes Jesus and accepted his message of repentance, forgiveness, and salvation is deeply changed. It is an inflection point in one's life. It is impossible to experience THE Cornerstone - Jesus Christ - and remain the same. In the same way, when you are in the middle of a legal dispute, struggling to obtain clear direction and justice, representation from Cornerstone determines that your dispute will never be the same. Our representation is often an inflection point in our clients' legal disputes, towards success.
